M.Sc. Nanoscience and Technology
Overview
The postgraduate program in Nanoscience and Technology is the step towards the objective of supporting and expanding an interdisciplinary learning and research in many scientific areas intending to build upon and to further the position of the Karunya Institute of Technology and sciences a deemed to be university as one of the leading academic institutions of our country. State-of-the-art teaching learning facilities are available for training the students in the demanding areas of industrial and societal needs. Well qualified faculty with decades of experience with multimedia equipment provide the motivation for the students to learn with added care and support.
The department of Nanoscience and Technology aims to maintain excellence in education which has been the tradition since its inception. The department incorporates this approach to all its activities including curriculum development and teaching methodology. It provides a quality scientific education to instil innovative, effective, creative, and competitive spirit in every student. The main focus of the department is to provide a conducive environment to learn the wonders of the nature at nanoscale and apply the cutting edge technology in creating an innovative thinking approaching towards constant updates in teaching and learning approach.
It aims to produce holistic, value-based learners by exploring and nurturing their potentials so as to discover and to exchange the knowledge to student community, society and to provide solutions.
In line with the mission of the University, to provide flexible learning opportunities to all, particularly to those who could not join regular colleges or universities owing to social, economic and other constraints and those who aspire to expand their knowledge in nanoscience as an added value to their basic science courses, the Post graduate Degree Programme in Nanoscience and Technology (MSc Nanoscience and Technology), offered in the Open Distance Learning (ODL)/ Online Learning (OL) mode aims at providing good quality education. It is also suitable for those who are already employed to improve their academic qualification which would enable vertical mobility in their profession.
The focus of the mission is to impart knowledge on the basics of Nanoscience and Technology aiming to develop nanotechnology professionals and scientists with profound knowledge in Nanoscience and Technology to find solutions to human problems in the field of health care, energy, food and water.
